Issue Duplicating Copying Large Folder on Mac

I can not copy a large Share Folder (6GB, 2500 files) from my router Ethernet attached Network MyCloud drive to my iMac Desktop, or Flash Drive.

Every time I start the process the Mac says several days to complete, multiple hours, slow, and never completes. I don’t have time for this.

So I tried to copy one file 22.5 MB file and it will not complete.

After 15 minutes I was able to copy 1 files.

What is wrong with the product, this drive.

Nothing should be that slow.

Now I am trying just 50 items, files, and it will not complete.

Or it will take so long it is useless.

If this drive cannot do better than it makes me question the usefulness of the WD product, and it makes me nervous to think I have so much critical information on this drive.

How is the Mac connected to the same local network as the My Cloud? Using Ethernet or WiFi? Is the My Cloud directly connected (via Ethernet) to the local network router? Is the router Gigabit capable?

Other things to check, make sure there isn’t a sleep setting that shuts off the computer or puts the network port to sleep. Use Gigabit networking where ever possible.
