Is there anyway to transfer file from an older iMac with only usb 2.0 ports?

Hello everyone,

Is there any way for me to transfer files from an older mac (iMac 2007 Intel Core 2 Duo, OS 10.11) onto my Passport Wireless Pro? I see the WD site offers a link for a software called Paragon for Mac, but it is not compatible with my computer. I found an older version that IS compatible, but no way to purchase it. (I’ve contacted the company and am awaiting their reply) I bought this to use with my iPad Pro, as it’s running out of space. I also wanted to download the movies I have on my iMac to watch on my iPad. I have a MacBook Air, but I don’t have enough space on that one to download off of iCloud to then transfer onto the Passport Pro.

Hopefully someone will have a working solution.Thank you.

Rebecca

Low cost USB sticks might be more convenient to use now that capacity is larger and that they are backwards compatible.

The WD passport HD can be setup as well but it you are wanting to get a newer machine you may need some adapter cables for USB C.

USB stick with reversible A and C are available at low cost
