i CONFIRM: WDXXEARS ARE A NIGHTMARE
The EARS drives are advanced format drives. You need to make sure that you have the latest Linux kernel in order to automatically align the drive’s partition. Otherwise, you have to do it manually. You will need to set fdisk to manual and align the partition at sector 2048.
no i’m not impressed mines failed after 6months
and now the rma is delayed as wd cannot find stock lol
would prefer to get it replaced with a blue ort black drive
or in reality just get my money back…as i personally am beginning to think they are not fit for purpose
guess we’ll see how long wd take to put me right
lets hope my other blue drive doesn’t fail in the meantime…
