Is the USB Flash PiDrive as safe as USB HDD version?

Hi

I’m wondering if the USB Flash PiDrive is as safe from corruptions as the USB HDD version?

I’m running a Pi as a server, and want to avoid problems due to SD card corruptions, and the PiDrive HDD version seems very promising. But I don’t need all that space, and it’s better for me to have low power consumption since I’d like to run the Pi on a UPS. Now the USB Flash version is flash memory, just like SD cards, so I’m wondering if it might be giving me any increased safety over using a microSD for my system?

Hi, I’m trying to get info on the flash drive- response to brown-out/black-out events during write operations.

The HDD utilizes the spinning inertia of the disk/spindle to generate back-EMF from the spindle motor and continue to power the system for a short period under voltage loss (below a certain threshold).

Thanks.
