Is My Book Encryption Secure as of 2016-Oct-05?

Today I purchased quantity 4, My Book Premium Storage hard drives, with “Complete backup and security” on the package. The reason I bought these is so that I do not have to use my server’s CPU to do the encryption of my daily backups. After 30 seconds on Google I’m finding all these 2013 articles about how the WD hard drive security is not secure. I cannot find any recent articles saying that my new My Books are now considered secure.

Can some one from WD please tell me if all the security holes in WD My Books have been addressed? Should I trust them or should I take them back to the store and ask for my money back. If WD says their stuff is secure, and it is not, that is false advertising.

Please note that this is a user to user community. If you would like to get a direct reply from WD, you will need to create a case on the WD support page.
