Interpreting system log files

As I have recently said in another topic I have eventually managed to get a set of system log files from the Dashboard menu > Support > Create and Save

I have been browsing the log files trying to correlate items within with specific problems I have encountered with the MBL.  The most important being the sporadic loss of access to the dashboard on a couple of occasions.  The first happened on 6 Jan 2013.  Even though dashboard access had vanished I could still access and move data around.

Is this extract from the user text file particularly significant where the unknown IP address appears 169.254.9.146

Any comments about any of the content of the extract below would be welcome.

I would try setting a static IP address on the MyBookLive and then reserving that IP using DHCP reservation on your router if available. It may help, it may not… The MBL would get a 169.*.*.* IP address when your router doesn’t issue it an IP address through DHCP.

The MBL used to be set up with a reserved IP address via DHCP. Last week I changed it to Static IP but later that same day I still lost all access to the dashboard. I have trawled through much of the system log files now but did not see a repeat of the 169.x.x.x IP address for that event even though dashboard access did go awol. I remain mystified.

I have sent a copy of the full systemLog zip file to WD Support for them to try and troubleshoot
