Hi,

I have a couple of the 2Tb version of these… What I need to know is how to find out what hard drive is under the bonnet of these.They were labeled as 7200rpm drives when I bought them, but I’ve heard that there may be disks with green technology inside them instead.  How can I find out what I’ve really bought?

Secondly, if it turns out that I’ve bought something I don’t want, that is the green Caviars, is it possible to replace the internal drives with other drives, for example 2Tb Caviar black/blue?

There’s a lot of apps to verify the drive specs for the internal unit inside the enclosure

I just simply don’t understand why people want to know what drive is inside on an external drive since the performance will be only determined by the interface you use
