IntelliPower technology......... maximize speed?

Hello, I bought a WDC WD20EZRX-00DC0B0 green 2tb drive(WDC WD20 EZRX-00DC0B0 SATA Disk Device  (2000 GB, SATA-III), but the RPM is a mystery to me. The dealer says its variable but I want it @ 7200RPM at all times. Any tips? TIA!

As far as I know, you cannot change the RPM.    And if you could, I believe 5400 is still the max.  

If you want a 7200 rpm drive, you should probably buy a 7200 rpm drive.

IntelliPower is deceptively marketed, IMHO. Even WD’s own employees can’t understand their own company’s marketingspeak.

In fact if you examine the fine print, after zooming into your PDF document several times, you will find a note to the effect that “for each drive model, WD may use a different, INVARIABLE RPM”.
