Without installing the smart ware software, I moved files onto the drive for backup. I now want to install the software. Can I install the software without erasing the files already on the backup drive? If there is any chance of losing the files on the backup drive, I prefer to copy the files onto another drive first. If it is ok to install the software without first removing the files, can you explain why it is ok? In laymen’s terms please. Hahaha. Thanks. Louis

You wont loose the files since you will be installing the software on your computer so the software will perform properly.
The software needs to be installed on your computer internal hard drive.
