Installer of new smart ware update doesn't work

Hello everybody, I have a problem with the new wd smart ware update, which I never had before.

The software (WD SmartWare Pro 2.4.1) became unbelievably slow on my laptop, so I decided to run the new update. But  everytime I start the update (German) shortly before the end of installation the installer stops (it’s said “Quick View Install” in the installer window) and shows the following message:

“wd smart ware setup there is a problem with this windows installer package. a program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. contact your support personnel or package vendor.”

Thereafter the installation is aborted. And now WD Smart Ware is beyond slow, I cannot even open the start screen… :frowning:

Should I probably de-install everything and re-install again? Or do you have another solution to my problem?

Windows XP Pro SP3

Yes, I installed have the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.

Hello,

Try uninstalling Smartware and then reinstalling its latest version.

Thanks! The program is working again after de- and re-installing although the same warning message showed again at the end of the installation process. Strange…
