I’m new at this. Just installed my passport.  How do I know if it backed up my files.  Do I need to do anything special?

After installing the software

You can check on the WD Smart ware software which is installed on Start> All Programs> and WD SMartware

This will show A image which will say how much of Pictures Music and Documents have been backed up
