Install KODI on my wd my cloud mirror

as asked in subj…

is it possible to install kodi directly on my mirror… so i can run without my pc?

Of course not. The Cloud has no video output.

im a newbie here… but as far as i know, kodi is an extension just like plex… and plex runs perfect… what is the diff.?

The main reason your idea does not work is because Kodi is not for installation on a NAS server, it is intended to be installed on a media playing device like a computer, a Fire TV, a Pi device, etc. For example, I have Kodi installed on two Fire TV sticks, and the sticks get the media files to play on to TV from my WD NAS.

I have Plex (server app) installed on my NAS and Plex plays my media files (stored on my NAS), on a browser of my computer or on a Plex app on my Fire TV, and Roku media players.

Kodi is running on QNAP, Synology why not on WD?

Simple. None of the WD NASes have video output.

QNAP has the TS-251+ which has HDMI output, but even they ended official support for Kodi.

Aaah and those Q and S do have them, now i understand :grinning: Thank you
