Initial set-up

The only documentation that came with the Shuttle XL with Thunderbolt3 was the Quick Start Guide. Shouldn’t there be something that walks one through the set-up?

In the Quick Start Guide, #1 and #2 make sense, but WTF is #3?

Thanks,
Rick

You will need the TB3 drivers installed on your Mac. You don’t need to install the software utility but you can if you wish to manage the device or change the RAID policy. Out of the box it is set as a RAID5 device.

TB3 driver for Mac
G-Speed Software Utility for Mac OS 10.12.x+

I did install the driver and the utility, and I think it is set-up in Raid 5, but boy it sure would be nice to know for sure before I start populating it.

I’d still love to know what the icon in #3 of the Quick Start Guide is supposed to represent, and I’d love to have a manual. Is that possible?

The image in #3 is basically verifying the drive lights are coming on.

The manual is: G-Speed Studio / Shuttle manual

Thanks!
