All of a sudden, my information panel is not showing the playing time or how long a show/movie is…any tips to rectify this problem would be appreciated.

Does this happen on movies it used to show the total times in the past? IOW, are you playing known good sources?
If so, usually this means you’ll have to reset the Live – use the paperclip as well as unplug it from power for at least 10 minutes (then then you’ll have to re-enter all your preferences, net logins, etc.) However, some files will not display the times if they are auhored incorrectly.
