Inconsistent performance at larger packets in ATTO

Hello,

Anybody experiencing this? Just got a WDBRPG0020BNC-WRSN (WD_Black SN750 NVMe) 2 TB drive and I’m getting some erratic speeds at higher size packets in ATTO

Also have a Model WDS500G2X0C-00L350 (Western Digital Black PC SN700) 500 GB drive and don’t see this behavior

Both drives’ firmware is up to date according to WD Dashboard. Installed in a Cooler Master HAF XB. Dashboard only allows me to run S.M.A.R.T short test… tried the Exteneded, but gave me an error about the drive not capable of doing it. No errors on short test.

Any help would be appreciated

Is this expected throttling down behavior due to overheating? SSD Dashboard does consider the temp (79 C) as overheating. I’m expecting a heatsink soon. I’ll see if it still does it with cooler temps.

Definitely heat… added EKWB heatsink and voila…

Temps went from up to 78 C to 50 C at load…

Lesson learned: buy version with heatsink
