Kept seeing (G-RAID Removable) drives either fail with controller error (in Event Viewer) or just disappear. Finally tracked it down to the WD SES Device driver loaded for my WD “My PassPort” external HDD on the same PC. I’ve used the desktop version of the PassPort drives before without installing the SES driver, so I don’t think it’s necessary, and without it, the G-RAID drives are now working fine (as ex-FAT, JBOD; USB on ElCapitan, eSata on Windows – attached at separate times). And the WD Drive Utilities still seem to work with the My PassPort.
