Inadequate Performance from Velociraptor WD1500HLFS?

OK, I know that the Win 7 Windows Experience Index is not a defintive HDD test, but, nonetheless, my Velociraptor only gets a score of 5.7.5.9. Hardly seems right to me. Does anyone have any thoughts?

BIOS is set to AHCI and the drive is using Windows SATA driver. (Before setting up the AHCI and SATA driver, the drive was configured as IDE in the BIOS and the Windows Index was an identical 5.7 5.9).

Any thoughts to improve performance will be appreciated as will other’s Windows Experience Index (<- just for the harddrive…)
