As announced on October 30, 2023, Western Digital plans to separate its HDD and Flash businesses, creating two independent, public companies with market-specific, strategic focus. The updates below for our specialized community websites is a necessary step in the company separation process. For more information, visit the Newsroom.
In alignment with this, Flash products from the Western Digital Community will be migrated to the SanDisk Community site: https://forums.sandisk.com, starting December 13, 2024.
The following products and all related categories/topics/posts will move from this Western Digital Community to the SanDisk Community site:
- WD and WD_BLACK External SSDs
- My Passport SSD, My Passport Wireless SSD, My Passport Go SSD, WD Elements SE SSD, easystore SSD, WD_BLACK SSD products
- Western Digital Internal SSDs
- WD_BLACK, WD Blue, WD Red, WD Green, Ultrastar
- Western Digital Software & Flash Mobile Apps (as these apps support both Flash and HDD products, these will still be available on the Western Digital Community site as well)
- Acronis True Image for Western Digital, WD Discovery, WD Security and Western Digital Dashboard
- HGST Internal SSDs
- G-Technology External SSDs
- G-SPEED, Atomos Master Caddy 4K, ev Series Reader, ArmorLock
We also now have two specialized support websites:
Western Digital Support will continue to support all HDDs and platform products. SanDisk Support will support all flash products from the Western Digital family of brands.
