iMac updated to El Capitan doesn't recognize My Book Premium Edition II

Hello,

I have an iMac (2.5 GHz Intel Core i5) and I’ve just upgraded to El Capitan (version 10.11.2). Since doing that, I can no longer connect to my external drive (it’s a My Book Premium Edition II, Model WD10000C033-000). It doesn’t show up in my Finder, or anywhere else. It’s like the computer doesn’t see it anymore.

I looked to see if there were updated drivers, but I don’t see anything for OS 10.11.2.

Please give any advice you can, as I can no longer access the files that are on that drive from my Mac.

Hello,

Currently, this unit does not have any updates available through the WD Support page.

As a recommendation, test the unit on a different Mac to make sure that is working properly and that the only issue is with the Mac update.

Also, what connection are you using on this unit? If you are using a firewire connection, please try using a USB cable.
