If I remove the USB drive for a while should WD Smartware backup all files changed once drive is reinserted?

I have WD Smartware 2.4.21.1 on a windows 10 home edition, notebook. The backup drive is WD Elements 25A2 USB device.
During a move from the unit office to home I removed the USB drive for a few months for security reasons. I don’t see backups of anything that I put on the machine afte the move.
Should WD Smartware backup all files changed once drive is reinserted?
If so how?
