I unistalled WD Smartware, but still it appears on another external drive:

In that G:\drive is :

Virtual CD Manager.exe

WD Smartware.exe

unlock.exe

and 3 folders:

Extras

User Manual

WD Smartware ( with various other folders and files)

Can these just be deleted ? Why wouldn’t  ( XP) control panel  uninstall all of it ?

Also, there remains, on the actual external drive N:, the prior Smartware backups.

Can these also just be deleted. I no longer am using WD Smartware at all, and do not intend to.

Or how to remove these items ?

smartware is located on a virtual partition of the drive, unfortunately you won’t be able to deleted it from the unit.
