It doesn’t matter … if you forget your password on a password/encrypted WD hard drive , then it’s not easily (or possible) to be ‘bypassed’.
If WD made it easy to bypass or reset the password if you forgot it, or if it got stolen, then there’s not much point in having password protection at all.
