I just want to watch a film! :(

Yeh, this is for my parents so they dont have the setup i have, i have a extensive network & devices throughout my

house with all devices connecting direct to my QNAP NAS, but like i say this is for my parents who dont have a NAS etc.

I didn’t get home til late so im going round there shortly to try several USB’s as discussed last night

Ok got it working with another USB, but im still confused as to the cause as the first USB

i used is not faulty & i tried it in both NTFS & FAT32, so i can only surmise that it’s an issue

with USB3 the tests i ran on all 3 sticks were the same, using the same files, the only

difference was that the one that worked is USB2.

Eitherway after many tests & fiddling im sorted &i appriciate everyones help

Thanks everyone

I use a 128Gb USB3.0 flash drive with no problems…

Good for you

Since the WDTV is USB 2.0 my guess is the WDTV doesnt like the way the USB 3.0 stick implements backward compatibility.

The SanDisk Extreme USB 3.0 64GB works fine for me, FAT or NTFS (I only ever tried it in front port, there is/was some kind of issue with rear port with some things but I think it was fixed with this FW, not sure as I do not sue it.

I used it for past few days will building a new PC so network was down.
