I have a MyBookWorld Edition2 with Mountain Lion and can't get Time Machine to work

I have OSX Mountain Lion and I am unable to get it to work with the MYBookWorld Edition 2 and Time Machine. What do I do?

I have a MyBookWorld also and could not get it to work with Mountain Lion… Looks like WD products only support Lion not mountain Lion.

See  http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1708/p/228,209,263/c/123/session/L3RpbWUvMTM1Mjg5MDY2NC9zaWQvdWUyYldlYmw%3D

I am very upset with WD!  I called WD pre sales support and was assured that the edition 2 will work with Mountain Lion, now I have a day old drive that is useless.  I was told to call support again today, but I doubt they will be able to help.

As you might be aware this drives are not been produced any more

At the moment the units are not working on Mountain Lion but as you can see in the link bellow they are not advertised to work on it

Lets see if WD comes with an update

Spoke to tier 2 support and my drive seems now to be working with Mountain Lion. At this time the Time Machine app is backing up the system. It will take at least five hours, but it is working.

Well the drive seems to work fine with Time Machine, so things look good. Just wish WD would provide newer software.

Will you share what you did to get time machine to work?

OK you have to got into  SYSTEM PREFERENCES then SHARING then check file sharing then OPTIONS on the right and put a check mark in the second box SMB. Then select your WD NAS in Time Machine Preferences.
