I have a MBLD A Drive Failure - what is the process to replace it?

I am using Raid 1. I have run the Short & Long tests, and Drive A failed both times. So can I simply buy a new Green WD30EZRX drive, swap out the A drive and the MBLD will configure itself?

Hi,

Yes, the unit should rebuild the RAID. Make sure to get the same line of product.

Thanks

Hi,

I am facing a similar problem, one of my drives failed so I purchased a new one to replace it. It has been almost 24 hours but nothing is happening, the light keeps blinking orange. Could this be because my original drives were green and I bought a red one? Are they not the same?

Thanks

My replacement drive was the same model as the drive that went bad. The
Raid did update and all is well.

Thank you! Will just wait a little longer then

My original drives were WD Green. I kept the exact drive, Green and the same model number. If you used a different model, you may not get the correct results.

In my case I was able to secure the exact model via Amazon. I did a cost
study to buy a new NAS versus buying just the drive and the drive was far
cheaper. I did think about replacing both drives at the same time but
again, the cost did not justify the expense. I agree WD should have the
drives to support this availalble, but I also understand, that it is buyer
be ware.
