I have a few question

If an AF harddrive is partitioned under Windows Vista/7, is it needed to align after or before installing Windows XP?

If an AF harddrive is partitioned under Windows Vista/7 for data storage, it is needed to align if the OS is XP?

If an AF harddrive is partitioned under Windows XP for data storage, it is needed to align?

Thanks.

After partitioning the AF Raptor with Windows 7 via an USB adapter , I put it back to the computer and started installing XP. However, the XP could not recognize the drive during the processing and saw the 128G primary partition as an 16384M unrecognized partition.

According to this case, I think XP could not recognize any partitions of an AF drive that is partitioned under Windows 7.

Do I have to use XP to partition the drive and align it after installing XP? Is this the only way?

Actually, you may have a bios drive size limitation.  Check to see if there is an update for your bios that allows you to see drives larger than 128GBs.
