I have 2 External HDD, is it possible if I connect 2 of them together?

This might sound stupid, but I got problem so I think about it.

I have a My Book Home 1TB (2xFirewire 800, 1xE-SATA, 1xm-USB)  and My Book Essential 2TB (1xm-USB). I connect 2 of them to my laptop, but  laptop have limited USB port. So my problem is I want to connect these 2 Enternal HDD to my laptop and not to use all of my USB interface. I got an idea like connect My Book Essential to My Book Home and then connect to laptop.

For example: My Book Essential ------------> My Book Home -------------------------> Laptop

                              m-USB <----------------> m-USB , Firewire 800 <--------------->  Firewire 800

                    or      m-USB <------------> Firewire 800 , Firewire 800 <--------------->  Firewire 800

But after all, I don’t know if windows can recognize this kind of interface or not. Moreover, is there any cable that have interface like mUSB-to-mUSB or mUSB-to-FireWire 800?

I don’t believe that you can daisy chain them together like how you’re describing but a USB hub might be the solution for your problem. A USB hub is a small device that plugs into one USB port on your machine and provides you with 4 or more additional USB ports to plug other things into. For example, on my system I have a printer, webcam, mouse, and external hard drive all hooked up to my computer through a USB hub. These four devices take up a total of 1 USB port on my computer. Here’s an example of an inexpensive one you can get through Wal-Mart. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Inland-Pro-USB-2.0-4-Port-Hub/10363672

Yeah, How silly am I. :neutral_face:

Maybe after a little crisis, I forgot about USB Hub =))

I’ve just recognized about USB Hub this morning, and I’m going to access here to close my topic when I’m home.

Thanks!!
