the device constantly flashes blue,

Have you tried 4 Second?
You can refer to the link below to do the 4 second reset.

If the front LED still flashes blue and doesn’t become solid. Contact WD’s Technical support team about this issue from the link given below.

I tried several times 4 second but it’s still flashing blue,

I contacted WD technical support who tells me to replace the device …
