Brand new 500GB drive, thought I would be slick and delete all the smartware on the drive…oops…now all I get is a a password screen, when I enter my password it takes it, but the drive doesnt show up…Software updater doesnt work, it says firmware is up to date…I dont know what to do…PLEASE help.
Thanks for your outstanding help. I returned the crappy passport and got a Seagate PLUG AND PLAY, 1TB for a little more but its worth it not to have my drive crippled and using up half a gig of space for your bloatware.

To THAT WHO HAS created VCD SMARTWARE - it is necessary for - you so
To make SOFTWARE which will allow to use usb controler HDD directly (without SPI flash (can other type, but most likely this) - in which it is written down VCD)
And users will decide as to work with a disk (to be VCD or not to be VCD)
IT UNLESS IS HEAVY???
OR YOU AND FURTHER WANT TO LOSE THE FACE???
