I have a 2TB Mybook Live. As I am trying to access the web user interface dashboard from my browser - both from the current dynamic IP address of the device and name of the device(http:\mybooklive) , it started to give “HTTP500 internal server error” and does not let me see the user interface dashboard.
Additional info: I am using only 46% of the device, I can access the WD Quickview and WD Smartware.
After a small investigation I did the following as well
*reset my router,
*done powercycle to mybook live,
*reset mybooklive,
*tried to connect via http:\mybooklive.local
*tried to connect via cross LAN cable directly from mybook live to computer(without any router btw mybooklive and computer)
but I could never had an access to the dashboard. Help PLEASE…
Thanks but the first thing that I tried before trying .local was your advice… It is not that easy to solve my problem because I tried all basic solution advices you’ll give:)) as i wrote in my post. I need something much more deep inside, like changing DNS or resetting device, without deleting data inside
Did you try to PING it on Network Utility (Mac) or CMD (Windows) so you can get the current IP address? The DNS server settings won’t help you at all for local access…
Yes I did, it is 192.168.1.100 now and I tried to reset the router and change the IP as well… In addition, I tried to connect to MBL via direct wired method via cross cable but not able to connect to the dashboard…
yes, our WD 2T Book Live have exact same problem(able to access data ) and unable to access the dash board. Type in our WD book live address and showed http 500 error. Tried on various browsers but same error persisted.
