How to Wipe Out a Defective Hard Drive


I have a hard drive that no longer responds to my computer.  I contacted Western Digital, and they are going to send me a replacement as long as I send my defective drive to them.  Is there a way I can wipe out the data that’s on the drive?  I don’t want to send a drive with some personal information on it.
