How to turn off the Power/Activity LED on My Book Essential 3.0?

I have my windows 7 PC on my bedroom and I would like to know how to turn off the Power/Activity LED on My Book Essential 3.0?

I don’t want to remove manually the power cable every night and I can not sleep with that much light.

The only way is to shut it down with the power button on the back or to disconnect the power adapter.

If you don’t mind voiding the warranty, you should be able to disconnect the wires going to the LEDs

Why not just a small piece of black electrical tape over the LED?
