I’ve never used external storage. I have icons for WD Backup, WD Security and WD Drive Utilities that seemed to have installed correctly. I “may” have backed up my files. I don’t know. When I open the E drive, there’s nothing that makes sense. I don’t know what format means. I’m sure I skipped that step. Should I use drive erase in utilities and then delete the programs files to start over again? Will I get the set up wizard when I plug in again? Or should I just use Windows Backup. What’s the difference? I don’t want to lose anything on my Lenovo laptop C drive. Please get me up to speed on what I need to know at this point. I use WIN 7.

Thank You. And I’m afraid I should have navigated there to begin with, but I just assumed it was plug and go. So, I’m still needing to know how to start all over again so to speak.
