How to sign in when you get "An error has been encountered"

An error has been encountered. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please retry again. If you need assistance, please email us at moderator@wdc.com.

  1. Click on one of the other Languages “English Espanol Deutsch Italiano”

  2. then type in your typical email, password and catcha

  3. click sign in

  4. if you still get the error, try different languages or if you had succesfully signed in another language sign back in English.

Works for me :slight_smile:

p.s. I spent the morning trying to sign in… then through the process of random clicking… this discovery was made…

Thanks for posting this workaround.

Sometimes is just a matter of closing and opening the browser or clearing the cookies. 

Or, until we get this fixed (and we’re working on it), you can clear your cache - all cookies, history, and temp internet files - and then sign in.  Sorry about the inconvenience.
