How to rollback Firmware

From what I can tell, v4 of the firmware has totally screwed the connectivity to my MyCloud. Transfers are brutally slow and I can’t access the administration via a browser ( http://10.0.1.9/UI/)) … hangs with “initiallizing device.” I can’t access my MyCloud using the WD MyCloud software either … “can’t connect to this device.”

There are apparenly two options:

  1. Back up, then do a factory erase and start again with the new firmware.

  2. Use firmware rollback instructions found on this forum.

There seems to be something that goes wrong with the update on a number of devices.  Nobody has nailed down what, but a rollback or a full factory erase seem to clear up the issue.
