How to make AFP config changes survive a reboot?

In order to make the AFP on my DL2100 work correctly with my environment, I have to make changes to /etc/netatalk/afp.conf and /etc/netatalk/extmap.conf.

However, any changes I make do not survive a reboot. Is there a location where my changes will become permanent, or do I have to script something to replace these two files on every reboot?

I don’t understand why these files locked down–the OS-provided extmap.conf is especially useless as every single line is commented out!

Thanks!

Hopefully an experienced User will be able to assist since there’s no WD-supported documentation related to such proceedings.

There is a way to make changes permanent and I think I sussed out how to do it, but I see why WD have done this lock-down so not even attempted to try on my own NAS.
