I found out mypassport wireless is running linaro linux. How can I install apt-get package manager on it?
I have not tried this since it is not supported, Lets see if another user can share some tips or information on this matter.
I would love to see a response to this! If you can copy the installer file onto the public share then you can SSH into it and copy it to the root filesystem and then install it. I know the MyPassport is armv7 architecture. (Typ.e"uname -a" into SSH command prompt.) I don’t know what package installer you’d need. In another thread someone mentioned that they had managed to compile a whole new distro on their device, so I know it’s possible to do all these things. Maybe you’d have to get the compiler on there and then install apt-get by compiling it from source code.
Good luck! Let us know what you find out.
Please post the link of someone compiling whole new distort on their device.
Its been long I’ve taken back on my WD MyPassport.
