How to get My Passport to save Document folder?

my Passport works fine on my iMac (OS 10.6.8) except it won’t save the Document folder, which has already cost me big time (for some reason Documents is found under “Places”, and it won’t go into “Macintosh HD” which is where My Passport is looking.)

What if you move the Documents folder to your desktop first?

My Passport does not save the Desktop, only what is under the “MacIntosh HD” icon: Applications, Library, System, and Users. I’ve tried putting the Documents folder in each of these other folders, without luck. 

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

I’m amazed that no-one else has reported this problem. It seems to be inherent in the way “Devices” and “Places” are set up in the Finder  (at least in OS 10.6.8) – Passport finds only “Devices”. I’ll try WD Tech Support using the link you’ve proviced – I wasn’t able to get any closer than this Community on my own.
