How do I delete files I no longer need backed up on the my book essential? Can’t seem to see how with or with or with out the software. Assistance? Thanks!
What kind of files and what OS are you using? You should be able to simply right click and delete unless there is some type of permission issue.

Thanks for your reply. I am on windowsd not sure what version. There is no way to access the files except through the WD smartware it seems. I accidently backed up huge audio files and completly filled my 1tb drive. Cannot find a way to delete them.
You may have to use the Smartware to delete them. I uninstalled it right after my first backup and saw it’s limitations and problems so I don’t know much about it.
