How to create shortcut to MBL shared folders in my taskbar ?

Windows 8 x64

Hi,

See if this link will help.   http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/pin-a-program-to-the-taskbar

this only guide to create taskbar shortcut to application.

what I need is a taskbar shortcut directly to MBL…

You do it the same way you’d do a shortcut to anything.

Just drag the icon representing your mapped share to the taskbar.

in 7 you can’t put a shortcut to a network folder in the taskbar.  it’s dumb, I just went through this when we upgraded at work.

you can Pin windows explorer, and then if you right-click the windows explorer icon see a list of frequently used folders.  you can pin the folder shortcut TO windows explorer, and it will appear at the top. Or just open explorer and go to your mappings.  But you can’t have the shortcut itself sitting on the taskbar.

I dunno about 8, sorry.

Sure you can.

Just about anything can be done, this is my machine with W7. Just do some research and reading. Of course, it all depends what you really want.

Sultan didn’t say that.  Cman did.  :)

doh! MY BAD!!!

removed…

I’m finding these directions here http://www.askvg.com/how-to-pin-a-folder-or-drive-directly-to-windows-7-taskbar/ so I stand corrected.  It’s entirely dumb though.  You used to be able to just grab the shortcut and drag it to the taskbar.

That’s what I did.  :)

so, still no solution of this for windows 8 ?

a way to do it could be adding shares to “Pictures”, “Video” and “Music” libraries, and then adding the shortcut of libraries to the taskbar.

here is how to add shared folders to the libraries (unfortunately only the three “multimedia” libraries can be used, and not the “Documents” library or any other added library): http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-Live/adding-MBL-shares-or-folders-to-Windows-8-Libraries/m-p/526649/highlight/true#M17424
