I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop (P55W-B5318 with Windows 8.1), and I am not sure how to connect my WD external hardrive. Previously, I used a FireWire adapter card to connect (the laptop had a port for the adapter). I do not have access to that laptop anymore.
The new laptop only has USB ports and 1 HDMI port. I’ve read that there is no such thing as a functional FireWire to USB adapter. I tried using a microUSB to USB, and the microUSB doesn’t stay securaly connected to the hard drive (it’s a loose fit) and the laptop is not recognizing the drive.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!
I have everthing stored on the external hard drive and worry that I cannot access the information on it!!!
