Coach shop in Cape Town, South Africa, where I bought this HD for my notebook, advised me to format the HD before using it. I tried to do a quick format with Windows 7 32-bit, but failed. Then I asked for a full format, but are about 84 hours that this operation is in progress and it never ends. The operating system does not show me the progress of work and I do not know what percentage of the HD format is. According to you it is normal so long a time? Do you recommend to stop the formatting? How could I do otherwise?

I recommend you write zeroes using WD DLG then you try formatting it again.
