How long should It take to unmount? Still on after unmount

So when I eject it and it isnt mounted anymore it takes about 5 minutes to turn off even after the computer shows it isnt mounted, Is this normal? Shouldn’t it stop vibrating soon after I eject? Also, if its normal, should I avoid unplugging it during that I guess? I wasnt transferring files at that point so im not sure why It was on.
