How is remote access achieved?

Hi guys,

I’d be grateful if somebody could detail exactly how remote access is achieved? How is it I can access my device from the outside world?

Much obliged - NB I have pretty basic networking knowledge

After the initial setup is completed, you can access your files on http://mycloud.com/.
