How do you Password protect shared links

First off, how stupid is it that I had to create another account just to post here! I already have an account with the cloud drive, very sloppy work WD! On to topic. How do you password protect your shared links? If you can’t, again very sloppy WD and very irresponsible on your part. So if I have a link and someone post it to the web anyone and their brother can access my drive! This is totally unacceptable and needs to be address immediately!
Asides from accessing your own files from the internet why would anyone ever use something so stupid! I have seen some users talk about trying to add passwords, could not tell if they did, all references to the dashboard are no where near what I have. Windows 10 64 bit. Software version 5.0.3-101

@Lightwaveguy Do you have a My Cloud Home or a WD My Cloud? Have you visited the Learning Center?

It sounds like you have a My Cloud. It does help to know what device you own and then members here can help answer your questions.

Its a My Cloud Home and your Learning Center has ZERO information.

If you can provide images that will help.

I don’t provide the Learning Center. I am a user just like you trying to help others.

Searching the Knowledge Base may help provide answers.

this is from the WD knowledge base. It does not seem you can password protect a shared link. you also do not seem to be able to set quota limits or expiration dates.

How to Share File and Directory Content on a My Cloud Home
This article explains how to share file and directory content on a My Cloud Home.

This product is more of a consumer level network storage device. it seems to be aimed more for families so sharing links with people you trust should not be an issue. If you are looking for more of a traditional NAS with more control I would suggest looking at the normal My Cloud product line. I would suggest looking at the EX2 or PR series.

No wonder Best Buy is selling this garbage cheap! What a waste of money!
