How do I prepare HDD for Raid 1 rebuilt

Hi guys

Got a 6TB My Book Live Duo in Raid 1 configuration. It recently had some issues but I managed to get it all back and running on disk B, dashboard and access all working fine.

Somehow the partitions on disk A got messed up. But the HDD is still fine - I ran some tests.

Now I thought if I just delete all partitions and create a new GBR partition table it would just be a matter of placing the original HDD back into its slot and the Raid 1 would rebuild.

However it still shows an issue with disk A.

My question is: How do I prepare the HDD for it to be recognised and the Raid 1 be rebuild?

Just in case anyone else comes across this isse:

  • cleanwipe your hdd under linux with wipefs -a /dev/sda (check your drive name!)
  • create a disk label in GPT format (using gparted or parted)
  • create one full size partition
  • format it in NTFS
