New boy here.
I started the initial backup on a new 4TB HDD. I started the first backup. Then the screen disappeared.
The light on the box shows it’s working.
I want to follow the progress and get an idea of when it will finish. Today, tomorow, when?
How can I do this?

I have the same problem with the backups of a MyPassport 500 GB associated with a Win 8.1 notebook.
Some time ago I posted a question similar to yours on the Italian WD Community website.
One moderator replied: process takes anything between 24 and 48 hours (which really does not make sense to me).
Another one replied that it is impossible to tell.
I replied back: (1) can you give me a rough idea of process time to be expected: one hour, one day, one month, one year? (2) Is there a way I can follow the progress of the backup?
He answered: (1) impossible to tell; (2) no way.
I now really hope that your query can get the positive support I could not get------------
