I have two WD External Hard drives. I inadvertantly installed Smartware not understanding what it was. I want to delete or format or however; to renove the smartware folders so I can simply have an external hard drive.

If you are planning to use the drive to do manual backup like (copy and paste), you just need to uninstall the applications from your computer and delete manually the folders from the drive like if you were removing a file on your computer.
Now, you are mentioning a Public folder, do you have a desktop drive or a network drive?
