How can i put my own DVDs to my LG Optimus L9?

My dad bought me the LG Optimus L9 as a Christmas gift, and i’d like to put some of my DVDs to this device for viewing on my way to school. I know i need some DVD ripper or converter program to assist me. Any one can recommend a free or cheap DVD ripper program to me? Thanks in advance.

Handbrake is what people generally use.

take note of what video containers your phone supports: DivX®, WMV, MP4, 3GP, and 3G2 Formats

i could’nt find anything in the user manual regarding what “codecs” are supported in those containers ?

By default MP4=AVC + AAC, so it’s safe to start there and Handbrake is quite good at MP4.  It’s a phone, so video and audio quality doesn’t need to be exceptional.

AU LG lists this for a P768f though:

Audio: MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC-LC, AMR-NB, WMA

Video: 30fps @ 1080p (MPEG-4 / H.263 / H.264 / DivX)

The OP failed to list the exact model, but he’s just encoding DVDs, as long as he doesn’t attempt to use bob deinterlacing he should be fine with the presets.

Try format factory (free) to convert

DVD Fab to rip the dvd (free ripping after trial)

Oh, right MakeMKV and THEN Handbrake!

Mustn’t forget that!

MakeMKV+Handbrake is good, but i finally used this ripper to do the DVD digitlization. Anyway, thank you all.
