How can I change configuration RAID on WD Sentinel DX4000?

Hi people!

I bought a DX4000 Sentinel. It has 2 hard drive 1 TB RAID 1, so I have 1 TB of capacity.

Now, if I add 1 or 2 hard drives, the RAID configuration changes from RAID 1 to RAID 5 automatically, but I do not want this.

I need to keep RAID 1 with 3 or 4 hard drives. In the user guide says that this is not possible, and technical support have told me they don’t know if this can be.

Anybody know some about this?

With the Sentinel being a headless unit you have no way to access the Intel RAID array manager at boot time. I think you’re pretty much at the mercy of whatever custom RAID BIOS settings WD has implemented.
